The Rehabilitation Modules have been created to take you a little more deeper into the anatomy and physiology, to give you a better understanding of your body.
Each rehabilitation module covers a single area e.g. the low back, and we guide you through the anatomical structures, the mechanics of that particular area, the potential causes of pain and problems within that area and then we guide you through how to self manage and improve that particular area with a video series of techniques and exercise that we may suggest to our clients in private practice.
Due to the nature of these rehabilitation modules, you can learn a lot more than you bargain for because you may not know what is causing your problem and nor do we, therefore we cover a variety of potential causes and how to help them. When treating somebodies pain issue or problem, as a practitioner we have to narrow down the potential causes and treat the most likely option.
This means, that in each rehabilitation module you’ll get the chance to learn and explore for yourself, rather than settling with the mindset that you have ‘X’ diagnosis. By following this approach, we remove the tunnel vision that can sometimes take place because when putting all efforts into only one area of focus you could be missing out on other co-factors influencing the problem and therefore the problem doesn’t resolve.
For example, someone could have lateral knee pain and have been diagnosed with or simply told it is Ilio-Tibial Band (ITB) syndrome. This person then goes away and works on their ITB and presumably work on their gluteal muscles and TFL muscle. These are the common areas to work on when dealing with a diagnosis of ITB syndrome. But what if that is not the true cause and it is due to a pelvic tilt or pelvic imbalance that it causing more strain and tension to take place on the ITB itself? This would mean following some advice and going down the tunnel vision route will not be very beneficial.
That is why, rather than googling for poor diagnosis options or looking up particular stretches on youtube that are ill-informed, to help people we want to educate and empower self control and self management strategies to truly help an individuals needs.
Each rehabilitation module lasts between 2 – 3 hours. The following rehabilitation modules are available:
Each rehabilitation module gives a breakdown of the anatomy and physiology involved in a particular area. We then discuss what are the likely causes of pain issues or problems, as well as discussing likely causes of pain being referred to the area. We then talk about implementing multiple self-management techniques to overcome the issue.
You will be guided through each of the styles of techniques that we use (that we may also suggest to our clients in private practice) and we always start off with easy/basic techniques and exercises and gradually progress them to harder, more in depth techniques.
All the videos will provide a deeper level of information, yet simplified for better understanding, and teach you how to release muscular tension, joint restrictions, aid better movement, strengthen and prevent / manage the issue you may have. This way we can help people of all levels and guide them to better physical well-being.
The techniques and skills in these videos will help you for a lifetime and its our way of encouraging people to be able to help themselves and be more proactive with their health.
Not only that we provide documentation to help you manage your feedback and goals as you become more aware of your body helping you into better physical health.
